Alex van Kessel- Peaceful Green Gardens

I chose this spot by the canal because it was the one area that I vividly remembered after I finished my walk. It had a serene atmosphere that was different from the other areas I had explored. The canal, cafe and people that casually walked about or sat at tables were a welcoming scene in a such a busy and fast-paced city environment. I returned later on and enjoyed wondering around this space and taking pictures both in the morning and evening. I discovered many things that I normally wouldn't have noticed or would have passed by had I not taken the time to really observe my surroundings. I enjoyed spending time exploring this area and plan on visiting it again soon.

Jenny Noh - Sophisticated Urban Scenery

I chose the space under the bridge include the park because this space has very beautiful scenery and give the sense of comfortableness. The harmony of the ships on the lake and tall buildings look sophisticated and this view shows the mixture of nature and urban areas. First when I went to this place, I chose to take photos of people who are in there, urban infrastructure, and ignored space. It was easy to find people and urban infrastructure because there is the bridge and many people are walking across that bridge. Later, I went to there again to take photos of beautiful architectural details and calm spaces. It was good to find the calm spaces because that time was right after rain stopped, so many people were not there. This space was calm and free, which I could take relaxation in there.

Hyun Jee Chang_Quiet, yet busy nature.

I chose Chicago Riverwalk to my space because it was the place that impressed me when I finished the walk. The reason that this place impressed me was because everyone in my chosen space was very relaxed and everything around this area was beautiful. It was a breathing space with freedom that we can take a rest in this busy town. When I went to my space early in the morning, I was able to take a pictures of architectures and environments. In the afternoon, I could take a pictures of people doing something and I looked for the space that seem to be ignored by people and the space that evokes for me a sense of calm. I had wonderful time while I was taking picture at the Chicago Riverwalk and I thought it was a great place to work on my project.

Anne: The Yacht Club

I chose this part of the Millennium Park because it looked very peaceful and quiet compared to other parts of city. Also, from this spot I was able to observe the variety of passersby doing their various activities. The stage in front of the park caught my attention because of the contrast in colors between day and night.

The first time I went to the park, it was early in the morning and I could focus on taking pictures of architectural details of the place because of its unique materials, and shapes.

The second time I went, I explored spaces that were overlooked by people because I was curious to see why they were hidden and forgotten by people.

The third time, I could concentrate on taking pictures of spaces that evoked a sense of calmness and serenity because of the absence of people in the park due to rain. Therefore, it made me feel peaceful and calm.

I really enjoyed exploring Millennium Park.

Bruno: The Tallest Calmest Square

311 South Wacker drive

After a rainy day, and a long walk I found a soothing square of green neighboring the tallest building in the west hemisphere.
Its beside the entrance of the highly visited sky deck of the Willis tower, there's a lot of tourists but what I found amazing is that no one has the time to visit it, or even worse they don't even see it.

The little space of green belongs to the tallest building in the world known named after its address (311 Wacker drive)



The Willis tower was my favorite building when I was growing up, and Id never thought that I would see it, so ultimately that made me choose this place.



The second time I went there it was night and very cold, so in this picture I tried to capture the feeling of that evening.
